The Ho Chi Minh restaurant I’d like to introduce today is ‘Clover Restaurant’, located in District 1, not far from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the very famous Bún chả restaurant Quán Nem. When you go there, you’ll find it in a spot where you might think, “Is there really a Korean restaurant here?”
오늘 소개해 드릴 호치민 맛집은 1군 위쪽, 인사대와 너무나 유명한 분짜 음식점 꽌 넴에서 그리 멀지 않은 곳에 위치한 ‘클로버 식당’ 입니다.
가보시면, “이런 곳에 한국 음식점이 있어?”라는 생각이 들법한 곳에 위치해 있어요.
There are certainly many young Vietnamese people. The time we visited that day was around 5:30 PM, and it quickly filled up. The atmosphere is like a ‘student canteen’ from about 10-20 years ago. Signs of time were also visible.
확실히 젊은 베트남 분들이 많습니다.
이 날 방문한 시간이 5시 30분? 정도였는데 금방 꽉 차더라구요.
분위기는 한 1~20여 년 전 대학가 ‘밥 집’ 느낌이 나는 매장입니다.
세월의 흔적도 보였습니다.
I couldn’t take a picture of the menu, but the prices are really cheap. This might also be the reason why there are many young Vietnamese friends. This makes me wonder why Korean restaurants in Ho Chi Minh have the same prices as in Korea. Of course, if they mostly use imported ingredients, I understand, and if I consider rent and investment costs, I understand. But to eat Korean food every day, the price is definitely problematic.
메뉴를 못 찍었는데, 가격대는 정말 저렴합니다.
베트남 젊은 친구들이 많은 이유이기도 하겠네요.
그러고 보면 왜 호치민에서 한식집은 한국과 가격이 같은가에 대한 의문이 듭니다.
물론 수입 재료들 위주라면 이해하고, 임대료와 투자비를 생각하면 이해하지만
한식을 매일 사 먹기에는 가격이 곤란한 점은 분명히 있어요.

To feel a bit of Korea after a long time, I ordered Makgeolli~ They said Jokbal Bossam (Pigs’ Feet and Boiled Pork) was delicious, so I ordered a small one.. it was about 8,000 Korean won. With rice coming too, at this price, it’s hard for a Korean to complain about the taste~!! But the taste wasn’t bad either!! There was no gamey smell from the meat, which was good, but if I had to pick a downside, the Jokbal was a bit tough as you can see… If you’re eating, I recommend Bossam^^
족발 보쌈 맛있다길래 작은 거 주문했는데..한국 돈 대략 8천원이었어요.
밥까지 나오는데 이 정도면 한국인 입장에서는 맛을 탓하기는 어렵죠~!!
근데 맛도 나쁘지 않았어요!!
고기 잡내도 없고 좋았는데 굳이 단점이라면 족발은 보시다시피 좀 퍽퍽…
드신다면 보쌈 추천 드립니다^^
Tteokbokki (Spicy Rice Cakes) was also decent~ It was quite sweet, but Tteokbokki is supposed to be eaten for its sweet and spicy flavor, haha. This was about 5,000 won~!!!!

단맛이 강하긴 했는데 뭐 떡볶이야 맵단맛으로 먹는 거니 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I really love Gyeran-mari (rolled omelet), and this one was quite big, haha. It tastes exactly like Korean-style Gyeran-mari!! About 4,000 won~!

Sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew)… about 5,000 won….. Before eating this, I thought, “The owner must be Korean~!!” But then a sudden question came to mind… This one was a bit disappointing by Korean standards. It was the only dish that was very different from the menu photo, and the taste was bland, like soft tofu added to spicy ramyeon broth… Hmm… Of course, I think there’s no need to complain about eating Korean food at this price in a foreign country, but I don’t recommend this Sundubu-jjigae to Koreans~~ They have many other items on the menu, so I recommend trying something else~^^
Today, I introduced Clover Restaurant, a Korean restaurant in Ho Chi Minh that is affordable and decent, offering the best value for money. I don’t know if the owner is Korean, but seeing young Vietnamese friends enjoying Korean food at an affordable price made me think that this is truly the promotion of the Korean Wave for Korean cuisine. Seeing young Vietnamese friends genuinely enjoying Korean food was a wonderful experience that made me feel good too.

이 걸 먹기 전까지는 사장님이 한국분이구나~!! 했는데… 여기서 문득 의문이 들었네요..
이 건 한국인 기준에서 좀 별로였습니다.
유일하게 메뉴판 사진과 매우 달랐고, 맛은 밍밍하고 칼칼한 라면 국물에 순두부를 넣은 맛….흠…..
물론 외국에서 한식을 이 가격에 먹는데 투정 부릴 건 아니다~생각하지만, 한국분들께 여기 순두부찌개는 추천하지 않아요~~
여기 메뉴 엄청 많으니 다른 것 드시는 걸 추천드립니다~^^
호치민에서 가격도 착하고 맛도 괜찮은, 가성비 최고의 한식당 클로버 식당을 소개해 드렸는데요.
사장님께서 한국이신지는 모르겠으나 베트남 젊은 친구들이 한식을 저렴하게 맛볼 수 있다는 것에서 이런 게 진짜 한식의 한류 홍보가 아닌가 싶었습니다.
베트남 젊은 친구들이 정말 맛있게 한식을 먹는 모습을 보니 저도 괜히 기분이 좋아지는 멋진 경험을 한 곳이네요.
